Printing help
Order page
Because there are so many right ways for web browsers to
print our order page, it may often run over into two printed pages. If you have
a Print Preview ability (On Mac & Windows either directly under the File
menu or a button on the Print... screen), try this and see what it looks
like. If the preview or a draft print does not look like you expect, try
some of these tips:
- In Page/Print Setup see if your printer can scale (shrink) the
entire page. Try 90% or 80% and see if the preview shows correctly.
- In your browser's preferences, check the Fonts section and
perhaps lower the point size of the proportional and fixed font sizes.
- If the white on black text of the address does not show up, check the
Page/Print Setup options to ensure you have "Print Backgrounds" turned on.
If, after you try these (or would rather not be bothered with it all), feel
free to send us two pages, and accept our apologies for wasting another
precious sheet of paper.
All other pages
We admit, pages with black backgrounds and light text on dark
backgrounds don't print very well ~ not to mention its a tremendous waste of ink/toner!
Here are a few tips on how to make our site (and others on the web) print better:
You may want to document your changes so you can work backwards to
get it back to where you started
- In most browsers' preference settings, there is an option to
override document colors or always use my colors. Selecting
this and choosing white for background color is a good first step.
- In Page Setup/Print Setup settings (under the File menu on Mac
and Windows), you may have an option to Print Backgrounds - You can
try turning this off. (You'll want this on, however, for printing an
order sheet).
Remember, we're still in the seedling stages of internet development - it
should get easier from here!
